Five men have been arrested in Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire by customs officers investigating a £20m illegal tobacco fraud. About 60 officers from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) raided addresses on Friday morning as part of a probe into excise duty fraud and money laundering.
Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested in Doncaster and a 47-year-old man was arrested in Newark. Two more men, aged 23 and 27, were arrested in Retford.
